Providing a safe space for families experiencing homelessness.
LCH Emergency Family Apartments
For years, our adult shelter has served individuals experiencing homelessness—but we’ve long been aware of the families we couldn’t reach. Due to the physical and operational limitations of the Lamoille Community House, we were only able to house single adults over the age of 18. Meanwhile, entire families—parents with children—were left navigating unstable living situations, from tents to overcrowded arrangements with friends or relatives.
Now, that changes.
With the generous support of the United Way of Lamoille County, we’ve renovated and furnished three apartments in Morristown to create the LCH Emergency Family Apartments—safe, welcoming homes for three local families, each with at least one adult and one child under 18.
Beyond a place to stay, these families will receive housing case management and access to many of the same supportive services we offer to guests at our main shelter. Our goal is to help parents regain stability and create the consistency and security every child deserves.
These apartments represent more than just housing—they are a step toward lasting change for families in our community.
